Ebonie’s Dream
Ebonie is dreaming of a laptop that will enable her to finish her bachelor’s degree in deaf studies. Fulfilling this dream will help her get across the finish line with her undergraduate work and give her the tools she needs to continue her studies to become an ASL Interpreter.
Ebonie entered foster care when she was very young and aged out of the system with no support or guidance on how to transition into adulthood on her own successfully. Dreaming of a better future, she resolved to be optimistic and hardworking, and through her efforts, she became the first in her family to make it to college graduation. She receives her diploma this spring, becoming part of the 3% of foster youth who graduate from college.
Ebonie has worked hard to make it to this point in her life. Fulfilling this dream will remove obstacles and enable her to take a big step towards achieving her dreams of working with the deaf population.
Cost of Dream: $699
