Camden’s Dream

$200.00

Dream Share is an opportunity for the community to come together to support one youth!

Camden is dreaming of a mobile barber shop. Contributing to this dream provides him with a trailer to start his mobile business. He shared this about his dream, “I just recently aged out of foster care. My dream is to open a mobile barber shop in my home town. I plan to use an enclosed trailer and renovate it into my area's first mobile barber lounge! Since I was young, I knew I wanted to be a barber and give back to my community, and now that I have that opportunity, I want to make my dream come true. I've been a licensed barber for about 7 months but have been cutting hair for 3 years.”

Camden spent twelve years in the foster care system. He shared this about aging out, “One big challenge I had was definitely just being sent on my own. I went from being in foster care to just being sent off. I had to figure out everything on my own: housing, schooling, work, etc.”

Today, Camden works securing and works as a barber. In addition to building a business, he also shared he wants to, “Be the best dad in the world! I promised myself I was going to be the dad I never had and that’s my #1 priority always.”

Camden is a hardworking, smart, and trustworthy young man. When asked what makes him unique he shared, “I think one thing that makes me unique is my past — the stuff I’ve been through. I hope to share my story of everything that led up to me being the best dad/barber I can be. I want to ensure other youth that have gone through similar events that there’s always more to life if you put your mind to it.”
