Summer’s Dream
Summer dreams of a bedroom set. Fulfilling this dream provides her with a mattress, frame and sheets for her to sleep on.
Summer was in the foster care system for three years until she aged out at eighteen. The biggest challenge she faced was mental health related. Today she is a peer mentor for a foster youth support program at her local college. She is also studying social work at a University.
An ideal weekend for Summer would be spent in a garden or planting a tree. She wishes people knew, “That I'm someone who cares deeply for others. I care about what others go through, even if I don't know them personally. I want others to know that I am a safe person for them to express themselves to.”
