Shatera is dreaming of exercise equipment. Fulfilling this dream provides her with items such as free weights, an exercise mat, and clothing for keeping an affordable and sustainable healthy lifestyle.
Shatera entered foster care when she was fourteen years old. Financial hardships have been her greatest challenge. Today she is a full-time substitute teacher and is a Junior at University working for a Bachelor’s in English. Her career goal is to one day work for a major publisher.
Shatera is creative, caring, and uplifting. Her hobbies include poetry and she has won a poetry contest with Sigma Tau Delta. She also enjoys caring for plants and taking walks. She wishes people knew, “I may seem like a strong person, but deep down I wish people would understand the feelings that I hide.”
