Monique's Dream
Monique is dreaming of becoming a Social Worker. Fulfilling this dream provides her with the laptop she needs to successfully complete her classes.
Monique spent eight years in the foster care system before aging out. One of her priorities is to make sure her six younger brothers don’t have the same experience she did, so in addition to attending University, she works many extra shifts to be able to rent a home big enough for her and her brothers. Because of her high grade point average, she was awarded an Advanced Standing Masters program track to become a Social Worker.
Monique said, “I have a passion for social work, my dedication for helping vulnerable youth and having a deep understanding in mental health, substance use disorders, and social services.” When she is not working or in school she enjoys playing an online game with her brothers, she also enjoys photography and exercising.
