Hailie
Hailie spent most of her life in the foster care system before adding out to be on her own. She has been looking into joining pre-law organizations, all of which have business-casual dress codes.
Unfortunately, she has not been able to afford business clothing, and being able to join these organizations would allow her to connect with other law students, as well as practicing attorneys.
Hailie’s dream of being able to have professional attire that is required in her future as she pursues a profession in law was fulfilled! This is what she had to say to those who made it possible:
“I just wanted to thank you so much for your generous donation to help me purchase some professional clothing. I am so excited to purchase some professional outfits that will allow me to engage in the Pre-Law Fraternity at the University of Arizona and dress appropriately for internship interviews at various law firms! I’m so honored to receive such a generous gift and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity.
Your gift is going to make such a huge difference in my life. I’m finally going to be able to attend professional development events – something I haven’t been able to because I couldn’t afford business outfits. Unlike many of my peers, I don’t have the money to purchase professional clothing for every occasion, but this gift is going to alleviate a lot of stresses and put me at the same level as my classmates in terms of opportunity for networking. Especially since I am attending events to get into Law School, this gift is going to give me the confidence needed to succeed.
As kids in foster care, we are told we are pre-dispositioned to be high school dropouts, teen parents, incarcerated, or homeless. I feel so grateful that I can actively do things in my life that put me on a path towards success. People like you are the ones that give foster youth, such as myself, hope that they can be something in life. While life has not been the best, nor the easiest, gifts like these allow us to live as normal lives as possible for, something that I am unbelievably grateful for.”
