Stephanie is graduating from Marconi Learning Academy with a high school diploma. She is the first person to graduate high school in her family and she is excited to begin her college journey. When asked about the challenges she faced, she said, “I’ve overcome a lot but the most important thing is homelessness.”

Having to navigate schooling while enduring trauma is extremely difficult, adding extra layers of challenges on top of the rigorous task of being a student already. Most foster youth are also navigating this journey alone and this is painfully highlighted on milestones like graduations.

At Dream Makers, we believe these young people are created for a purpose, that they have great value, and that they should be seen and celebrated!
