Nyomi's Dream

Nyomi dreams of a graduation gift of professional clothing.

Nyomi is graduating Cum Laude from University of Denver with a major in Public Policy & Socio-Legal Studies. She received the Daniels Scholarship which was a full ride scholarship. She also studied abroad in Glasgow, Scotland. She said the greatest challenge she faced reaching this point was feeling like she didn’t deserve to be there. She is excited to start Law School at University of Colorado in the fall.

Having to navigate schooling while enduring trauma is extremely difficult, adding extra layers of challenges on top of the rigorous task of being a student already. Most foster youth are also navigating this journey alone and this is painfully highlighted on milestones like graduations.

At Dream Makers, we believe these young people are created for a purpose, that they have great value, and that they should be seen and celebrated!
