Jordan's Dream

Jordan dreams of a graduation gift of a gift card to purchase groceries.

Jordan is graduating from Shasta College with a degree in Business Administration with an Accounting Concentration. She said, “I didn't think that college was in the cards for me. After failing in my early adulthood, I went back and achieved my degree with a 4.0 cumulative GPA.” In addition, she also received an EOPS (Educational Opportunity Program) student of the year award.  

Having to navigate schooling while enduring trauma is extremely difficult, adding extra layers of challenges on top of the rigorous task of being a student already. Most foster youth are also navigating this journey alone and this is painfully highlighted on milestones like graduations.

At Dream Makers, we believe these young people are created for a purpose, that they have great value, and that they should be seen and celebrated!
