Dalton's Dream

Dalton dreams of a graduation gift of bedroom decor.

Dalton is graduating with a high school diploma this May. He was placed in foster care when he was 6 years old, and he moved often from place to place, making it very difficult to succeed in school. However, in his second year of high school his case worker fostered him and his brother, which made it possible for him to focus on school. Dalton’s plan for the future is to attend trade school.

Having to navigate schooling while enduring trauma is extremely difficult, adding extra layers of challenges on top of the rigorous task of being a student already. Most foster youth are also navigating this journey alone and this is painfully highlighted on milestones like graduations.

At Dream Makers, we believe these young people are created for a purpose, that they have great value, and that they should be seen and celebrated!
