Jayonna

Jayonna’s dream of having new furniture was fulfilled by a generous donor and she now has essential furniture pieces for her very first apartment!

Jayonna was in the foster care system for over a decade. Once she aged out, she faced the challenges of homelessness, understanding financial responsibility, and learning how to be independent.

Today, she works full time as a care worker at an adult home and is also attending college. She hopes to one day become a social worker. She was awarded for her work as an intern where she facilitated workshops for foster youth and traveled out of state to advocate for foster youth. 

Jayonna enjoys being with friends, cooking, exercising, and reading. She says what makes her unique is “I love God. I feel like His presence in my life gives me this unexplainable kindness and love for others.”
