The Dream Store
Betty – Texas – age 18
Betty is an amazing young woman who came into foster care at the age of 16. She fit in well at the foster home and was a wonderful help to the younger foster kids in the home. When Betty turned 18, even before she graduated from high school, she became part of an independent living program and moved into an apartment with another foster teen. She still managed to get herself to work and school every day and graduated with honors in June. Betty is enrolled in a community college for the fall and needed a car for transportation. She has such a bright future with her sweet spirit and work ethic. Betty dreams of having her own car to help with her ongoing transportation needs. Money is tight for her but she believes she can financially support having a car. Cost of her dream – $1150 towards the purchase of a car.
